Our "Learn-to-Swim" program follows Die Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gesellschaft (DLRG) swim levels, and is suppported by American Red Cross swimming technique. Our swimmers learn breaststroke, but they also learn freestyle, backstroke and butterfly as they progress through the levels.
SEEPFERDCHEN
- Head fully submerged
- Aquatic breathing
- Push-off in arrow (belly/back)
- Object resurfacing
- Shape (Streamline) tension dorsal/abdominal
- Legs BA/FR : make long legs, move from the hip ( don't cycle!!!! )
- Diving knee position
- Arms Backstroke (BA)
- Able to swim 25m continuously
- please note that the Seepferdchen is an early swimming certificate and is not yet proof of safe swimming! Anyone who has the Seepferdchen is still considered a non-swimmer and must be supervised in the water at all times! Children with a Seepferdchen certificate should be confident with the water (as this is a skill developed with the course) before joining a Bronze class
BRONZE
- Coordination arms - legs BA

The Gold+ ("gold plus") is a new course that replaces the previous Bear-a-Cudas "Pre-team". This course requires twice-weekly instruction. Swimmers focus on strength and coordination of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. The class works on endurance and fitness, and is a preparation for team swimming. Swimmers will work on starts and turns.
